Ellen Christine Leth Løkkegaard,

Ellen Løkkegaard's long research carreer has been focused on the consequences of hormonal contraception, birth, surgical interventions, and treatment of menopausal symptoms. Her groundbreaking research has had world wide consequences, with recommendations regarding hormonal contraception being changed as to lower risk of thromboembolic events - presumably saving the lives of tens of thousands of young women. Currently she works at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nordsjællands Hospital, Denmark, where she is involved in large clinical cohort studies of physical activity in pregnancy.

Hellen McKinnon Edwards,
PhD, MD, Consultant

Postgraduate Obstetrics Program Director            

Hellen Edwards currently works at the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark. She has a PhD degree for her research in severe postpartum hemorrhage which included a large multicenter, double-blinded, randomized controlled clinical trial. She is involved in further research in this field nationally and internationally; and contributes to the work on national guidelines.

 

Paul Bryde Axelsson,
PhD, MD

Paul Axelsson is doing his obstetrics and gynaecologist training at Odense University Hospital, Denmark. His PhD was a register based study of the long-term risk of psychiatric disorders to children born by cesarean delivery and treated by antibiotics in early life, using sibling-comparison models. His post-doc studies focus on the early infant microbiota and postpartum infections. Paul graduated medical school in 2011.

Maria Birkvad Rasmussen,
PhD, MD, Consultant

Maria Birkvad Rasmussen is employed at the clinic for reproductive medicine/fertility clinic at Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark. She has a PhD degree for her research in medical education, which, besides OB/Gyn, is her primary area of interest. The title of her PhD thesis is: “Beyond a standardized approach to managing in hospital emergencies: Exploring factors related to the individual and the context”. Her research includes both qualitative and quantitative studies.

 

 

Anne Ostenfeld,
MD, PhD

Anne Ostenfeld is a trainee in obstetrics and gynaecology at Nordsjællands Hospital Hillerød. She has  a PhD  in hyperemesis gravidarum including a randomised placebo-controlled double-blind multicentre drug trial. She contributes to work on national guidelines in both obstetrics and gynaecology and is a member of the organisation committee for the annual national guideline meeting in obstetrics.

 

 

 

Tina Djernis Gundersen,
MD

Currently holds an introductory position in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Herlev Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark. She is working on her PhD protocol and has previously published research on postoperative infections in cesarean section.

 

 

Bo Schneider Thomsen,
Consultant

Currently works at the department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics Herlev University Hospital. Bo has been heavily involved in organisational work for FYGO - the Danish Federation of Younger Gynaecologists and Obstetricians, and is the former Chairman. Bo's research interests are epidemiological studies regarding mode of delivery.

 

Birgitte Møller Luef, 
MD, PhD-student

Birgitte is currently doing her specialist training at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Odense University Hospital. She has published several studies within the field of preterm birth, microbiota, antibiotic treatment and preeclampsia, and has just started on her PhD project regarding gestational diabetes.

Louise Justesen graduated from University of Southern Denmark, class of 2019. She is doing her obstetrics and gynaecologist training at Sydvestjysk Sygehus in Esbjerg. Her main interests are obstetrics.

Arushma Imran Naqash,
MD

Arushma Naqash is doing her introductory position in obstetrics and gynecology at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark. She is currently planning a Ph.D. in obstetrics. Among her key research interests are caesarean section compared with vaginal delivery, and labor induction. She is the chairman for NFYOG - Nordic Federation of Young Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
